La Plage...en hiver?!

The beach...in winter?!

Le soleil brille... Il fait 25 degres et il n'y a presque personne sur cette plage parfaite, sur la Pacific... Et c'est janvier! Oui, le secret des plages de californie, c'est que c'est parfois beaucoup plus beau--meme plus chaud--a la plage en hiver, qu'en ete, quand il y a beaucoup de brume et vent. Mais ne pensez meme pas a nager dans l'eau glaciale!

Ma soeur est venue juste pendant le weekend--juste 48 heures, mais on s'est bien profiter du bons temps. Evan adore le sable, il pourrait passer des heures a jouer dedans. Apres la plage, un petit resto, on a mange sur la terrace au soleil, en regardant l'eau et les mouettes. Pas mal pour un weekend en janvier...

The sun is shining... It's 77 degrees and there's almost no one on this perfect beach on the Pacific ocean... And it's January! Yes, the secret of the beaches in California is that it can be even nicer--and warmer--at the beach in winter than in the summer, when there's too much fog and wind. But forget swimming in that icy water!

My sister came for the weekend--just 48 hours, but we took advantage of and enjoyed the nice weather. Evan loves the sand and could play for hours in it. After the beach, a little restaurant--we ate on the patio in the sun, watching the water and seagulls. Not bad for a weekend in January...
p.s. Evan est presque propre maintenant (pour #1, pas #2 encore) alors il met la culotte meme a la creche! Juste pas encore la nuit...

p.s. Evan is pretty much potty-trained (for #1, not #2 yet) so he wears underwear, even to the daycare! Just during the night yet...
